Silver Mountain: A Good Neighbor in the Community

Jerold O’Brien and Silver Mountain Vineyards are proud to support many community events in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Cruz, Los Gatos, Monterey and surrounding areas. Jerold serves on the Board of Directors of the Santa Cruz County Symphony, and regularly contributes wine and private tastings as raffle items to selected local organizations that he has supported through the years. Our support is focused primarily on programs that benefit education, the arts, and the environment. A partial list of organizations is listed below.

Auction Item Donation Policy: Silver Mountain is approached by many worthwhile organizations for donations. As much as we would like to, as a small, family-owned and operated winery we are not able to commit to every request for donations. The winery has chosen to focus its efforts on local education, the arts, and the environment. Any parties requesting donations that fall within these parameters are invited to download the Auction Item Donation Request Form. Forms can be emailed to info@silvermtn.com or faxed to (408) 353-1898.

Our donation may include bottles of wine for auction or raffle, and/or a certificate for a Private Tour & Tasting. If your request is accepted, please fill out your own organization’s personal form to the best of your knowledge. We will provide you with a Donation Description and Fair Market Value upon acceptance of your request.

If you are requesting wine to be poured at your event, please note our Case Goods Donation Policy: Case goods are available for pouring at planned non-profit events at 50% off the retail price. The winery is unable to donate case goods at 100% for a variety of reasons:
  • 50% off retail bottle price allows us to recoup our production costs.
  • Silver Mountain prefers to pour our quality current vintages at charity events rather than lower cost, inferior wine we want to get rid of. It is important to us that our brand is shown in the best possible light—and your charitable event can also leave a good impression on the generous people that pay to attend.

Please note that if we provide wine to be poured at your event that our policy requires a winery representative to conduct the pouring (or in some instances at minimum to be present to represent the winery).
