Silver Mountain Vineyards Brings Home the Double Gold for Pinot Noir in 2006 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS, Calif., March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Silver Mountain Vineyards demonstrated the excellence of its Pinot Noir with a Double Gold Medal, a Gold Medal, and a Silver in the $30.00 and above category at the recently-announced results of the 2006 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
Silver Mountain was awarded the only Double Gold Medal for Pinot Noir in the category for its 2003 Santa Lucia Highlands (Tondre Grapefield) Pinot Noir. The Gold Medal for its 2003 Pinot Noir comes from Russian River's Amber Ridge Vineyard and the Silver Medal for its 2003 Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir comes from Miller Hill Vineyard.
"Silver Mountain Vineyards has been making premium wine in the Santa Cruz Mountains for over 25 years," said Jerold O'Brien, founder of the winery. On March 25th and 26th, Silver Mountain is participating in Pinot Paradise, a weekend-long event celebrating the Pinot Noirs of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Silver Mountain will also be open to the public on Saturday, March 25th and will host a host a Winemakers(TM) Dinner that evening with Jerold O'Brien and Tony Craig, winemaker of Sonnet Cellars, and will feature these award-winning Pinot Noirs.
